Hailing from the home of House Music, Chicago native Louie Gomez got his first taste of music production by creating a club friendly version of “Your Love” by then unknown Jamie Principle. This House classic, along with another original unreleased production from Gomez entitled “Change”, became staples in Frankie Knuckle’s dj sets at the legendary Warehouse and Powerplant nightclubs in Chicago. After taking some time to hone his skills as an audio engineer at local recording studios in Chicago, he was ready to show his growth as producer / remixer / and songwriter; Louie Gomez went on to produce for Rama Records and Absorb music label, and later collaborated as Gomez & Fresco on various projects for Deep Hype Sounds, Poontin Muzik and PiNO Music labels.
Louie’s solo project South Side Funk Joint, created a huge buzz for OpenHouse Recordings landing at 75 in the Top 100 Jackin House tracks of 2012 on Traxsource. Gomez has completed remixes remix projects for Tommy Largo on Blue Gritt Records, Tim Rella on House Call Records, and DJ Jes on Fresca Recordings and Chunk-A-Bud on Gaia Recordings. More recently he is featured on the House Call Records Winter Sampler Vol. 1 & 2, has Released an EP – The Chicago House Tribe on Deep Hype Sounds (Feb2013) and is included on the Deep Hype Sounds Spring Sampler, following up with another EP – Sofa King House on House Call Records. In August of 2013 he’l be on the new EP from Deep Hype Sounds – Champion Sounds, followed by an EP on O.X.O. Records in September 2013.
